Our Story …

Mahjong Social Club Jax began with a simple goal: try something new.

In 2023, Reisha made a list of 23 new things she wanted to do that year. One item on that list was learning American Mahjong. Inspired by a friend's mother who had been playing for years, Reisha and Angie decided to give it a try. What started as a new hobby quickly became an obsession.

They fell in love with the strategy of the game, but even more than that, they fell in love with what happened around the table. Mahjong became a reason to gather, connect, laugh, and spend meaningful time with friends.

What began as four people around a table has since grown into a thriving community. Since launching Mahjong Social Club Jax, Angie, Reisha, and Laney have introduced more than 200 people across Jacksonville to the game they love.

Our mission is simple: to bring people together through a shared experience. We believe Mahjong is more than a game—it's a way to build friendships, create community, and make space for joy in our busy lives.

Like wildflowers, the best things tend to spread. What started with one lesson and a small group of friends has blossomed into a community of people learning, playing, and connecting throughout Jacksonville.
